Respiratory Therapist

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Island Health, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. To be successful in this role, you must have a graduate degree from a recognized Respiratory Therapy program and be eligible for registered membership in the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT). A Life Support "C" Certificate is required, and an Instructor's Certificate is preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide excellent patient care.
- Work effectively in highly stressful environments, prioritizing tasks and making decisions in emergency situations.
- Operate related equipment, including ventilators and computers, to provide life-supporting therapies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness.
