Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our SQA team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and execution of comprehensive testing strategies for embedded devices based on Linux and Android platforms.

This is a senior role that requires a strong technical background and leadership skills. You will be responsible for leading feature design discussions, architecting test coverage, and working with the team to monitor testing progress, analyze results, and make informed decisions based on testing outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical discussions with development and product management teams to ensure technical features are properly tested.
  • Architect test coverage based on technical specifications of features for our device portfolio.
  • Work with the team to lead functional testing and automation of certain features and releases of our device features and functionalities, including partner Android applications.
  • Understand the end-to-end SW release process and work in an agile SW model delivery process to deliver a SW release from a test perspective.
  • Investigate feature requirements for the product and design test cases out of the requirements for features and customer issues and escalations.
  • Analyze and build network setup required for features and defects for testing and investigations based on different call control platforms and network devices like switches and routers.
  • Administer switches, routers, gateways, SIP proxies, IP media servers.
  • Understand creation of automated tests using REST APIs using Java/PERL/Python and different automation frameworks used in embedded domain.
  • Perform code and test case reviews and participate in design discussions to identify potential quality issues.
  • File defects and quality improvements stories and tasks in the bug tracking tool.
  • Follow up with stakeholders to ensure all required testing tasks are completed.
  • Analyze testing processes and suggest improvements for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of QA activities.
  • Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding test status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Represent the software quality assurance team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
Requirements
  • ~3-7 years of experience in testing of Voice/Video IP based products supporting SIP/H323, SDP, RTP, TCP, UDP protocols, testing of "Unified Communications" applications supported on Android devices e.g. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or other embedded products.
  • ~Voice/Video over IP; Android Telephony applications - TCP, UDP networking protocols; IP based Call Servers; Networking Switches and Routers; Embedded devices testing; Agile Methodology.
  • ~Java/Python/PERL.
  • ~Test Planning; Software Testing; Jira; Test Rail.
