About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at Windsor Meats Ltd. as a Retail Butcher. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for cutting and preparing meats for sale in our butcher shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cutting and Preparing Meats: Clean and cut meats to prepare for processing or cutting, cut carcasses, sides, and quarters, cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, and wrap and package prepared meats.
  • Meat Preparation and Display: Weigh meats for sale, supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers, grind meats, train meat cutters, make special sausages, and prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Operate manual cutting utensils, power grinders, sausage machines, and slicing machines.
  • Security and Safety: Pass a criminal record check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and have good hand-eye coordination.
  • Personal Suitability: Be accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient in interpersonal skills, have excellent oral communication, be flexible, take initiative, use good judgement, be organized, reliable, and a team player.
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in this field of employment.
  • Availability for the advertised start date.
  • Current legal ability to work in Canada.
  • Willingness to relocate for this position.
