Structural Engineer Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to provide in-house structural engineering, design, and detailing support as part of a team responsible for the design and detailing of pre-engineered and modular steel buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis and engineering design for assigned projects
  • Review and approve detailed structural drawings issued for fabrication, shop, and field assembly purposes
  • Provide analysis and design support for bid estimates and final detailed design
  • Assist with structural quality inspections in the production plant and job sites
  • Communicate and coordinate with sub-trades and internal project management, purchasing, and manufacturing departments
Requirements
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in good standing with APEGA
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in Canadian industrial and/or commercial structural steel design
  • Strong background in all applicable National and Provincial building codes, and industry standards
  • Experience using structural engineering software such as Graitec AD, or similar software
  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
