Job Summary:
Schlegel Villages is seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team as a key member of our care team. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality personal care to our residents, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to understand individual needs and advocate for residents to participate in decisions about their care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and promote a resident-centred social culture, delivering the highest quality of personal care to residents.
- Work as a key member of our care team, understanding residents' individual needs and advocating for residents to participate in decisions about their care.
- Provide leadership to the Medication-Certified PSWs and neighbourhood teams.
- Oversee the medical needs of residents in our Retirement Village.
- Provide safe administration of medication and treatments, focusing on accuracy, quality, and meeting residents' quality of life requests.
- Follow plans of care (or service plans) in accordance with the standards of the College of Nurses and identify and report any changes in residents' well-being to the Charge Nurse and Village leadership team.
Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart Save Level of CPR.
- Excitement about our objectives, Village philosophy, and family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village.
- Caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
- Understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the RPN role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MDS credentials.
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and best practices applicable to the retirement and long-term care sector.
