Web and Data Software Engineer

Waabi is a pioneering AI company that's revolutionizing the self-driving technology landscape. As a Web and Data Software Engineer, you'll be part of a world-class team that's pushing the boundaries of innovation.

Our team is responsible for building software tools that solve Waabi-specific problems and accelerate development. With a unique set of skills, we own and maintain services that have been built, and we're looking for talented engineers to improve our existing suite of services and expand it with new tools.

As a Web and Data Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in technical and architecture discussions, collaborating with researchers and engineers.
  • Being part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers using an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale.
  • Building and maintaining interactive web tools, including interactive simulation, custom labeling tools, data annotation tools, dataset curation tools, result comparison tools, and more.
  • Advocating and setting patterns for software development.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated software engineering experience through previous internships, work experience, coding competitions, and/or research projects.
  • Experience with modern web technologies/libraries for building responsive web applications.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with a variety of backend technologies and languages.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Empathy for the people who will use the tools you create and maintain.
  • Open-minded and collaborative team player with a willingness to help others.
  • Passion for self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions.

Bonus qualifications include:

  • Experience working with container and cloud infrastructure and managing infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience with 3D visualization (WebGL) / real-time interactive systems.
  • Experience with web visualization libraries such as Three.js or similar.
  • Previous experience or passion in UX/design.
  • Experience with software development tools including build systems, version control, continuous integration, containers, packaging, profiling, debugging, code review, linting, test automation, and test coverage tools.
  • Experience in ML and self-driving.
  • Experience working with robotics or machine learning research teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
