Position Overview

The Role:

WSP is in search of a Senior Manager to oversee our Environmental Planning and Permitting division, a key segment of the Ecology and Environmental Impact Assessment (EcoEIA) sector in British Columbia. Reporting directly to the Director of EcoEIA, this position encompasses both leadership of a team exceeding 25 professionals and the provision of high-level technical and project management guidance across diverse projects of varying scope and complexity.

You will become part of a dynamic group of regulatory experts, biologists, socio-economists, and project leaders situated in the South Coast region of British Columbia, with multiple offices across the area. As the Senior Manager, your contributions will be vital in achieving our strategic goals and further enhancing our ecology-related services.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Reviewing cost estimates and client deliverables within your designated authority.

  • Provide mentorship to project managers within the Permitting and Planning team.

  • Lead monthly meetings for the Permitting and Planning division.
Qualifications:
  • A university degree (minimum undergraduate) in environmental or natural sciences, environmental engineering, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a consulting role focused on ecological project delivery.
  • Professional registration (R.P.Bio, P.Ag, RPP, etc.) in British Columbia.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong business acumen and experience in financial management, including budget development and tracking.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, capable of overseeing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proven success in team leadership, emphasizing a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety leadership.
  • Dedication to technical excellence with the ability to prepare proposals and technical documentation.
Compensation
Salary Range (in British Columbia): $99,500 - $164,200.

The final salary for this position may vary based on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, and organizational needs.
