Job Title: PLC Programmer

We are seeking a skilled PLC programmer to join our team at Advantage Personnel. As a PLC programmer, you will be responsible for designing and installing controller system software for our clients in the wastewater process industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to clients' locations to analyze system requirements and design custom programmable logic code.
  • Install and test system efficiency, providing operational support as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their mechanical or electrical automation needs.
  • Design and program control systems for pumps, valves, and chemical dosing equipment.
  • Ensure efficient water treatment and proper wastewater management, contributing to environmental sustainability.
  • Develop and install machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages.
  • Determine machine automation test criteria before final installation.
  • Test automated systems for efficiency, safety, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot system errors and oversee successful installation of PLC programs.
  • Document development processes and provide clients with technical support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
  • PLC technical certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in water/wastewater process programming.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Bristol, Modicon PLCs.
  • Experience with GE Proficy iFix, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Iconics Genesis, and Invensys Wonderware HMI software.
  • Ability to program in multiple languages, including ladder logic, structured text, and VB scripting.
  • Ability to read and interpret PLC wiring diagrams, Control Narratives, and P&ID Drawings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong technical and analytical proficiency with the ability to multi-task effectively and thrive in a team environment.
