Job Summary

G & K Transport Ltd. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining our fleet of trucks, transporting goods and materials across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Operations
    • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
    • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
    • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
    • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Communication and Documentation
    • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
    • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
    • Accurately complete and maintain documentation, including driver logbook and inspection reports
  • Safety and Security
    • Ensure the safety and security of cargo and passengers
    • Comply with all relevant regulations and company policies
  • Teamwork and Adaptability
    • Work collaboratively with other drivers and transportation staff
    • Be flexible and adapt to changing transportation schedules and routes
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Experience and Skills
    • Experience in transportation or logistics an asset
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical Demands
    • Physically demanding work environment
    • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
