About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for representing Groupe TVA's interests with entrepreneurs and third-party property owners where work is being done. Work will be done on construction sites, during cable installation and/or cable protection work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work progress with the contractor's team leader while respecting the initial mandate (meeting deadlines, compliance with plans).
  • Perform necessary checks at the beginning of the project to ensure smooth work execution.
  • Ensure the contractor completes necessary procedures (permits, checks, authorizations, etc.) before and during project execution.
  • Ensure work is done in compliance with construction technical standards and other related standards (health and safety).
  • Take necessary actions to minimize construction costs.
  • Inform the supervisor of work progress and execution using a project journal, plans, sketches, and photos.
  • Update work logs daily based on project realization and payment methods (lump sum, unit rates, or hourly rates).
  • Ensure cable safety at all times.
  • Prepare a list of damages to inform the property owner and follow up with the contractor for site restoration.
  • Perform any other related tasks connected to their responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Work experience in the construction industry is necessary.
  • Experience in telecommunications field work, particularly in construction site supervision, is an asset.
  • Completed a general safety course on construction sites and hold a recognized competency card from the ASP Construction organization.
  • Competency card and general safety course are assets.
  • Hold a Class 5 driver's license.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel under the Windows environment.
  • Good technical drawing skills.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Proven initiative, resourcefulness, and autonomy.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
