About the Role

The Power Engineer - 4th Class is a critical member of our team at BGIS, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and a strong focus on delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance
    • Conduct thorough inspections of facility mechanical and electrical equipment to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
    • Perform routine and on-demand maintenance tasks to ensure facility uptime and asset integrity.
  • Client Relations
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Administration
    • Participate in facility-related projects and ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies.
    • Maintain accurate records and submit expenditures in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
    • Minimum 3 years experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditions systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
    • Strong client-service orientation and a high sense of urgency.
    • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
    • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
    • Mentoring skills to support lower-level technician development.
  • Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
    • 4th Class Power Engineer Certification - required.
    • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution required.
