Maintenance Mechanic

Covanta is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on plant equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrications, and adjustments.
- Repair and replace equipment parts, including welding and fabricating.
- Inspect and maintain building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and aerial lifts.
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and with hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment issues and improve process efficiency.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Minimum 1-year experience in a mechanical role with knowledge in hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, and general carpentry.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
