Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement engaging child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs of children, promoting their overall growth and well-being.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities that foster creativity, social skills, and emotional intelligence in children, including storytelling, singing, and educational outings.
  • Child Development: Monitor and support children in developing essential life skills, such as eating, dressing, and toilet habits, while promoting healthy habits and a positive self-image.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and community service providers to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment for children.
  • Environment and Safety: Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment that protects the well-being of children, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a childcare setting.
  • Certifications and Memberships: Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification, membership in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), and First Aid Certificate.
  • Work Environment: Child care centre with a focus on providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
  • Work Conditions: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, and attention to detail required.
