POSITION SUMMARY:
BEST Service Pros is seeking a Junior Environmental Coordinator to spearhead sustainability initiatives and conduct environmental health and safety assessments for designated sites across Ontario. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who can work autonomously as well as collaboratively to drive environmental program goals while ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
Job Location: Kitchener, ON
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and gather data from waste, recycling, and other campus locations to enhance waste reduction efforts.
- Analyze and report on data pertaining to client and internal sustainability projects.
- Organize annual waste audits and communicate findings.
- Advocate for recycling, composting, and waste education among internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage in information booths and other educational outreach events.
- Foster a culture focused on waste diversion and a commitment to sustainability.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in computer and smartphone applications, with experience in MS Office.
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
- Valid driver's license in Ontario.
- All candidates must successfully complete security and criminal record checks.
