About the Role:

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrologist / Hydrotechnical Engineer to enhance our dynamic team in Fredericton. This role is pivotal in supporting our expanding Engineering Team and engaging in diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide a team of technical professionals.
  • Deliver expert guidance and mentorship on intricate hydrotechnical initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough quality assessments of designs, proposals, and reports.
  • Foster client relationships and lead essential project meetings.
  • Coordinate with project managers and discipline leads to ensure timely and budget-compliant project deliverables.
  • Identify and cultivate new business prospects while assisting in the preparation of corporate business development materials.
  • Collaborate with various departments, environmental regulators, and GEMTEC offices on project-related tasks.
  • Report project and financial performance to corporate management.
  • Engage in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives, enforcing policies and standards in all work.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Water Resources, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 to 20 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
  • Proven experience in drafting proposals, work plans, and comprehensive reports.
  • Strong analytical and modeling capabilities with a deep understanding of hydrotechnical project development and design.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, with a track record of adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE Flood, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Previous consulting experience is beneficial.
  • Current registration or eligibility with the Atlantic Professional Engineers Associations.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in the field as required.
