About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Geotechnical Technical Director to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our Geotechnical Group, you will be responsible for leading geotechnical investigation campaigns, designing structures, and providing technical expertise to support our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct large-scale geotechnical studies to inform project design and decision-making.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with geotechnical activities.
  • Manage complex technical situations and provide expert advice to project teams.
  • Develop and implement applicable standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Advise on the development of new methods, practices, and tools to improve geotechnical engineering capabilities.
  • Participate in staff coaching and development to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
  • Contribute to the development of geotechnical discipline at Stantec in Quebec.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geological engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including several years in infrastructure projects.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Excellent writing skills for technical reports.
  • Excellent level of French (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of English is required to facilitate collaboration with internal teams and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in civil or geological engineering.
  • Experience in the mining industry.
  • Author of technical publications.
