About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drafting Technician to join our team at ACI Homes. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed engineering designs and drawings, working closely with our engineers and production specialists to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting: Prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings, using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other design tools.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Design Development: Develop and prepare design sketches, models, and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts.
  • Specifications and Estimates: Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates, working closely with our procurement team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials.
  • Documentation and Quality Control: Complete documentation packages and drawing sets, examining drawings for conformity and errors, and ensuring that all documentation meets our quality standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Consult with clients, engineers, and production specialists to establish product requirements, and provide regular updates on design progress and any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance required.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 35 hours per week.
