About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Manager to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As a key member of our Data Governance team, you will play a critical role in supporting data governance and data advisory activities for our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a Data Governance roadmap that aligns with our business strategy and goals.
  • Build and maintain Data Stewardship, collaborating with data stewards to ensure data assets are governed, secured, and used appropriately.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance Data Governance and Stewardship, enabling education and support for data journeys.
  • Manage Data Governance operational queues, intakes, and access controls, ensuring proper data access and retention.
  • Develop and mature internal, business unit, and Enterprise Data Governance metrics and KPIs.
  • Apply and promote data governance standard methodologies for projects and processes.
  • Lead a team of individuals, fostering career growth and skill development.

Requirements

  • Progressive experience in data management, data governance, process improvement, or analytics working with multi-functional/matrix project teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster and develop relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment, prioritizing individual duties to align with department priorities.
  • Experience with data stewardship, enterprise data management, and data security in establishing and maintaining trust in data.
  • Familiarity with productivity tools such as Office365, MS Teams, Confluence, JIRA, and Slack.
  • Proficient in data governance, data management life-cycle, data policies, and standards.
  • Experience with data governance tools such as Informatica Data Quality, Axon, and EDC.
