Mergers & Acquisitions Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Specialist to join our dynamic Corporate Development team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic acquisitions that align with Descartes' growth objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and engage with potential acquisition targets to build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence assessments, analyzing key financial metrics, operational capabilities, and strategic fit.
  • Develop comprehensive valuation models and financial analyses to support deal structuring and negotiation.
  • Lead negotiations with target companies and external stakeholders throughout the M&A process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (legal, finance, operations) to ensure seamless integration of acquired businesses.
  • Monitor post-acquisition performance, tracking synergy realization and key milestones.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, or a similar role within a technology company.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with a proven ability to assess complex business situations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

An accounting/finance designation (CBV, CFA, CPA) is an asset.
