Your Role:
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Senior Underwriter specializing in Commercial Lines. In this role, you will engage with our Brokers to assess a diverse array of commercial risks, including sectors such as manufacturing, commercial real estate, contracting, wholesaling, warehousing, health services, and various financial and professional services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a profitable portfolio of Property and Casualty accounts, focusing on new business opportunities.
- Evaluate and analyze requests for quotes, renewals, and policy modifications, providing innovative solutions.
- Support Brokers with underwriting and rating policies, ensuring a collaborative approach.
- Participate in industry events and broker visits to foster strong relationships.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to team members, enhancing overall departmental performance.
- Review policy coverages and claims experience to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
- Maintain thorough documentation of underwriting files in line with corporate guidelines.
- Demonstrate expertise in current market wordings and loss control reports.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with at least 3 years in Commercial P&C Underwriting.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer tools.
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is preferred.
- Ability to manage complex risks and a deep understanding of local insurance issues.
