Job Title: Auto Body Repairer

We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Repairer to join our team at Deb's Auto Collision & Sales LTD. As an Auto Body Repairer, you will be responsible for repairing and refinishing vehicles to their original condition.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in auto body repair and refinishing, with experience in estimating repair costs, inspecting repaired vehicles, and planning repair work. You will also be responsible for instructing apprentices and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimate repair costs based on damage examination reports
  • Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure high-quality workmanship
  • Plan repair work to be performed, including ordering necessary parts and materials
  • Instruct apprentices in auto body repair and refinishing techniques
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
  • Repair and refinish vehicles to their original condition, including painting and applying primers
  • Replace front end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
  • Hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces
  • Repair or replace interior components
  • Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs
  • Mix paint, blend, and match colors
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in auto body repair and refinishing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
