Job Title: Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at ArcelorMittal Dofasco. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for performing a range of accounting and consolidation functions, including maintaining the general ledger, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Corporate standards, and supporting monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure that transactions are recorded properly, with a focus on intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare and review the monthly financial reporting package issued through ArcelorMittal's consolidation and reporting system and efficiently respond to any follow-up questions.
  • Receive financial information from other areas within finance and other departments and process and analyze that information to facilitate the timely and accurate preparation of the financial statements and related reporting.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial information to management.
  • Prepare compiled financial information and reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Document, analyze, and support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) and external audit requirements and generally support a robust internal control environment.
  • Implement changes in accounting policies.
  • Understand the implications of new and unusual transactions within the assigned month end accounting duties.
  • Identify and implement process and system improvements.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as required.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a university degree in Accounting or Commerce with a major in Accounting, and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience is preferred.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset.
