About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at ONTOP DRYWALL & FRAME LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing and installing wood frames for various building projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure accurate construction.

Prepare and Install Frames

Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools, and install frames for walls, floors, and roofs.

Measure and Cut Materials

Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct frames.

Install Windows and Doors

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the framing process.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a variety of locations, including outdoors, and will be exposed to noisy and dusty environments.

Requirements
  • Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

Work Experience

1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field is preferred.

Physical Demands

The job requires physical demands, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy materials.

Personal Qualities

The successful candidate will possess excellent client focus, reliability, and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions

The job requires working 35 to 40 hours per week and may involve working at heights and in confined spaces.

Language

The primary language of work is English.
