Job Summary:

Baycrest Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Austin Centre for Neurology & Behavioural Support. As a member of our interprofessional team, you will provide evidence-based clinical assessments and care to individuals with complex neurodegenerative brain disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide high-quality client-centered care, including medication management and treatment planning
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and services
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of dementia care and neuro-behavioural care
  • Develop and maintain expertise in the care of seniors with complex medical, neurodegenerative, psychogeriatric, cognitive, and social needs
Qualifications:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree, Master's preferred
  • CNA Certification in Neuroscience or Geriatrics
  • Knowledge of memory disorders, dementia care, brain anatomy, and physiology
  • Experience working with clients with memory disorders due to neurodegenerative diseases and psychogeriatric symptoms of dementia
