Part-Time Professor Position: Building Information Modelling I: Drafting and Drawings
The School of Science, Engineering and Information Technology is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to teach Building Information Modelling I: Drafting and Drawings.
Course Description:
This course introduces students to the tools required for creating a model and documenting a project using Revit Structure. Students will learn the techniques and standards necessary for effective graphical communication, including interpreting and reading architectural and construction plans, drawings, terminology, scales, symbols, and specifications used in residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) construction.
The course covers the fundamental principles of Revit Structure Technology and Building Information Modelling (BIM). Extensive hands-on experience with Revit Structure 2017 is provided in a computer lab setting. Topics covered include:
- Advantages of BIM
- Revit Interface
- Modelling Tools
- Building Structure Elements (columns, beams, beam systems, floors, foundation, reinforcement, toposurface)
- Annotations, Detailing, Sheets, and Printing
Responsibilities of a Part-Time Professor at Durham College:
Part-time professors contribute to a positive learning environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles. They actively engage students in the learning process, utilize adult education principles, and effectively employ educational technologies for teaching, assessment, and communication.
