Job Title: Cost Accountant

Teledyne Digital Imaging, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Waterloo. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for implementing cost standards, monitoring unit cost variance, and preparing revenue, COGS, and margin analysis reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Monitor unit cost variance by reviewing bi-weekly purchase price variance reports.
  • Prepare revenue, COGS, and margin analysis reports.
  • Reconcile raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Update bookings and backlog reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide analysis of manufacturing cost variances.
  • Review, analyze, and update standard costs.
  • Coordinate/documentation of quarterly obsolescence and reserve reviews.
  • Assist with yearly inventory counts.
  • Warranty reserve analysis and review.
  • Quarterly audit requirements and reports.
  • Assist in SOX documentation pertaining to operations.
  • Heavily involved in process improvement initiatives.
  • Support various cost accounting special projects.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • A good understanding of cost accounting with inventory experience in a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient skills in Excel and ERP systems.
  • The successful candidate will preferably have a CPA or equivalent designation.
  • Must be a self-starter who is efficient and well-organized.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • SAP experience would be an asset.
