About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Trades Assistant to join our team at Wiseman Mechanicals Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in various construction tasks, including loading and transporting materials, mixing and pouring concrete, and performing routine maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading construction materials, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
  • Material Handling: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Drilling and Blasting: Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, following established safety protocols.
  • Earthwork: Level earth to fine grade specifications, ensuring accurate and precise results.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance work, including cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Weight Handling: Lift and move materials weighing up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs), demonstrating physical stamina and endurance.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train, with a focus on developing skills and knowledge in construction trades.
  • Work Environment: Underground, confined spaces, noisy, and dusty environments.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, reliability, team player, hardworking, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
