About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Control Manager to join our team at Drax Group. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining a complete and accurate financial control framework for North America and undertaking second-line assurance testing to ensure the effective operation of controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and oversee the implementation of the Group's control frameworks across North America.
  • Work with the Group's outsourced Internal Audit provider to support in the coordination and execution of their reviews and ensure resulting audit findings are remediated in a timely manner.
  • Identify areas of control weakness which require enhanced or additional controls and work with key stakeholders to implement these.
  • Take responsibility for localized training on risk management and control with key stakeholders, risk, and control owners.
  • Support the transition of the Pellets business from manual Excel-based risk registers and non-financial key control self-assessments onto a system-based solution, along with providing user training to risk owners and control owners across the Group.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of supporting systems used (Blackline and SAI360), to provide comprehensive risk-based reporting and KPIs in order to answer queries from colleagues within the business, leadership, and the Audit Committee.

Requirements:

  • Extensive relevant experience within financial control, corporate governance, and audit methodology.
  • Experience working in assessment of policies and standards, risk scoring, assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of mitigating controls, and recommending improvements to control design.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships and build an internal network with people at all levels.
  • Well-developed leadership and influencing skills to navigate innovation through multiple complex, uncertain, and uncharted issues as well as improving best practices.

What We Offer:

  • Benefits Plan with no waiting period.
  • RRSP - Registered Retirement Savings Plan (colleagues receive up to 6% matching).
  • ESPP - Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • EFAP - Employee Family Assistance Program with Telemedicine Services.
  • Employer Provided Access to Health and Financial Apps.
  • Bonus per career level.
