About the Role

The Workday Mobile App team is seeking a Principal Product Manager to spearhead initiatives within the Mobile Platform sector. This position will concentrate on crafting, promoting, and executing platform functionalities to create our next generation of mobile applications across various devices including smartphones, tablets, and wearables. As a pivotal member of the platform leadership group, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners such as engineering, design, user experience, and business line product managers to develop and deliver capabilities that enhance scalability and accelerate market entry, ultimately driving customer, user, and partner satisfaction alongside product adoption and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Articulate and advocate for the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Mobile Platform domain.
  • Integrate insights from diverse sources to guide and continually refine your strategic direction.
  • Actively contribute to translating the Platform strategy into comprehensive requirements, working in tandem with design, engineering, and analysts to build, prioritize, and execute.
  • Inspire and energize internal teams and external stakeholders, clearly linking the platform strategy to customer, partner, and user value, as well as business outcomes.
  • Mentor and support team members to enhance their skills in product management and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional peers to consistently optimize the product development lifecycle.
  • Analyze data to establish, monitor, and communicate success metrics.
  • Work in partnership with complex, multidisciplinary teams across all organizational functions to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Workday's product offerings and capabilities in relation to the personas utilizing mobile applications.
  • Comprehend the overall Workday product portfolio and customer base to leverage existing assets and create strategic solutions that deliver customer value.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on the technical aspects of the product.
  • Assess Platform opportunities and prioritize investments based on impact and value.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant experience as a Product Manager or Technical Product Manager.
  • Experience in launching mobile applications (Android/iOS).
  • Expertise in platform strategy and delivery at scale.

Other Qualifications

  • Proven experience in successfully delivering user-facing experiences.
  • Background in creating, launching, and communicating enterprise software product strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading product teams, managing stakeholders, and collaborating within a product portfolio.
  • Experience in cross-collaborative efforts with internal teams, adept at managing ambitious dependencies and priorities.
  • Strong product acumen with a commitment to driving customer value and business impact.
  • Ability to rapidly learn in a dynamic team environment, including highly technical domains.
  • Skillful in managing interpersonal relationships with professionalism and discretion.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including comfort in engaging with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies.
  • Capacity to approach problems from various perspectives and utilize data-driven analysis for roadmap development and prioritization.
  • Technical knowledge of mobile operating systems (iOS, Android), mobile architectures, and proficiency in generating reports using Tableau.
  • Bachelor's degree in technology, business, or a related field.
  • Willingness to adopt a hybrid office reporting model.

Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are provided below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate's compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need.
