Overview of Responsibilities
The primary duties of this position involve overseeing all preventive and physical upkeep of educational facilities or buildings, specifically within an area of less than 9275 m2.
This role encompasses the planning and execution of maintenance tasks, as well as the coordination and supervision of work conducted by other staff members.
Additionally, the employee will perform the essential functions associated with the role of a maintenance worker, Class II.
Key Responsibilities
The individual in this position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization. This includes:
- Planning and executing maintenance tasks in collaboration with the supervisor.
- Ensuring that maintenance tools and equipment are kept in optimal condition.
- Conducting inspections of the building and its systems, including lighting, heating, and ventilation.
- Performing necessary preventive maintenance and minor repairs, while also identifying and reporting any issues that require attention.
- Maintaining records of work completed by both skilled and unskilled laborers.
- Repairing doors, windows, and furniture, as well as assembling and installing equipment as needed.
- Implementing security measures to protect against theft or fire, which may include monitoring access to the premises.
- Preparing facilities and rooms based on specific requirements.
In accordance with established procedures, the employee will:
- Order or purchase materials, products, and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Conduct inventory checks and ensure compliance with safety standards for storage and disposal of materials.
- Provide recommendations regarding products, materials, equipment, and methods of work.
- Coordinate and oversee the activities of other non-specialized staff as required.
- Utilize computer systems and software necessary for job functions.
If necessary, the employee may be assigned additional related duties.
