Job Overview
The Educational Support Consultant plays a crucial role in guiding educational staff and services in the effective implementation, enhancement, and assessment of curriculum initiatives, classroom management strategies, and the promotion of inclusivity across various dimensions such as disability, gender, race, and ethnic background within the Central Quebec School Board.
Primary Responsibilities
- Engage in the development of educational initiatives and specific projects within the school environment.
- Assist in formulating, executing, and assessing school improvement plans while complying with educational and administrative guidelines at both the school and board levels.
- Facilitate the rollout of curriculum and training initiatives.
- Provide expert advice to educators and administration on the interpretation of curriculum frameworks.
- Design and conduct workshops and training sessions pertinent to curriculum implementation.
- Support educators both individually and in groups to enhance their daily instructional practices.
- Develop or select and lead training and educational enhancement activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of students in adaptation, innovation, and pedagogical growth.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and students to create and evaluate personalized intervention strategies for students facing disabilities or learning challenges.
- Assist educators in crafting and executing strategies and projects aimed at supporting students with learning or adaptation difficulties.
- Guide school teams in applying optimal universal classroom management techniques and designing effective learning environments.
- Advise educators and administrators regarding staff training initiatives.
- Plan and assess professional development programs for staff.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations on the selection of educational resources, supplementary materials, specialized tools, and software.
- Advise school personnel on the process of assigning technological aids as adaptive measures.
- Collaborate on initiatives for technology integration within educational settings.
- Develop and lead workshops focusing on components of technology integration programs.
- Work in partnership with other educational stakeholders, partner organizations, Centers of Excellence, and the Ministry of Education.
- Travel to various schools within the Central Quebec School Board as required.
