Job Summary
The Long Term Care Specialist will promote excellence in nursing with advanced knowledge within clinical care, systems leadership, advancement of nursing practice, evaluation, and research. This role will focus on the Carewest long term care sites in the Calgary Zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical team consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on system change.
- Develop and implement clinical guidelines, protocols, and education resources.
- Identify opportunities to increase LTC nursing practice based on best evidence.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to provide and support complex client situations and trends.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Master's in Nursing.
- PROSCI Change Management certificate.
- Alberta Health Services Improvement Way (AIW) Green Belt certification.
- Canadian Gerontological Nursing certificate (GPNC).
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of full-time clinical experience in the last 5 years in continuing care, focusing on long term care.
- Previous CCHSS auditor experience.
- Previous LTC educator experience.
