Job Summary
RBC Direct Investing is seeking a Senior Manager, Editorial Content Producer to join our experienced and award-winning editorial content team. As a key member of the team, you will work with the Director of Content to execute on strategy, production, and publishing on various platforms. You will work with content contributors, business leads, marketing, and communication teams to build compelling experiences that support clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production for both English and French content, including videos, podcasts, text, and images. Ensure best practices for discovery, layout, and design to connect with our audiences and meet business goals of engagement and acquisition.
- Write and/or assign articles to freelancers to meet the needs of a fast-paced publishing program. Craft effective writing assignments based on team input and analytics. Work with writers to create compelling articles. Use a content management system when needed to assign and update articles.
- Stay aware of all things investing, including events that may impact markets and investor reactions. Develop smart content ideas and suggestions that connect with our readership.
- Develop excellent working relationships with our contributors as well as compliance and legal teams to collaboratively develop impactful content in a timely manner.
- Fact-check and follow all approval processes. Edit according to industry standards and keep style sheets up to date.
- Contribute ideas for efficiencies and experiences to ensure that our content delivers on strategic priorities and client journeys.
- Stay up to date on recent advancements of content and social media developments.
- Work with third-party illustrators and designers, providing feedback and enhancements as outlined by the broader team.
- Provide copy-editing, proofreading, and overall support as part of a collaborative team of content creators and problem-solvers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience creating daily content for a digital publication/platform. An understanding and willingness to learn how to connect with investors through consistency, tone, and relevancy. A passion for building audience through storytelling and content delivery.
- Experience in business, investing, and/or personal finance is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. An ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver on deadlines.
- Excellent writing samples and a passion for story ideation/creation. Proven ability to write compelling positioning and packaging copy for digital publishing as well as full-length articles.
- Organized and detailed-oriented with an ability to follow/create schedules, follow workflows, build taxonomies, and approval processes.
- Technically savvy with experience working with a broad range of tools, including content management systems, SEO, analytics, PowerPoint, file sharing, and workflow tools. Adaptable and ready to go the extra mile. Stellar problem-solving skills.
- A critical thinker who uses a problem-solving approach to testing and optimizing content. Experience maximizing distribution channels.
- Demonstrated success using social media and different platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English and French.
- Experience covering financial and investment topics, while translating technical content into client-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Post-secondary/industry-specific education with a focus on journalism, communications, or digital design.
