Our client is a pioneering Silicon Valley hardware startup focused on revolutionizing the training performance of large AI models. They are addressing the bottlenecks in data centers that hinder GPU utilization, prolong training cycles, and increase costs. Their innovative solution clears these bottlenecks, unlocking AI performance while reducing cost and power.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced software lead/architect to lead the software development for our client's groundbreaking technologies that accelerate AI workloads in large clusters. As software lead, you will have a significant voice in product development and collaborate closely with customers and R&D teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering and product marketing teams to define product requirements
  • Work closely with R&D teams to optimize product architecture
  • Develop proof-of-concept materials for innovative technologies for early adopters
  • Develop specifications for the SDK
  • Recruit and lead a software development team
  • Lead the development of the SDK and reference implementation of network operating systems
  • Work with customers on their technical challenges and requirements during pre-sales activities

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in computer software, with knowledge of Linux kernel, Ethernet, and IP protocols
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive knowledge in software architecture of Ethernet Switches/Routers and network protocols in the L2 to L4 layers
  • Extensive knowledge of Network Operating Systems (SoNIC, etc.)
  • Strong experience in architecting and developing networking SDKs
  • Experience with RoCE and RDMA
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to details
  • Ability to work collaboratively with hardware engineering teams and be willing to work directly with customers
  • Knowledge in Cloud infrastructure and AI workflows
  • Linux Environment and Linux Networking
  • Experience with SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface) is a plus, but not required

Location: Remote

Compensation: $200,000 - $280,000 base salary + equity
