Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Project Management to oversee our project delivery in Toronto, ON. This pivotal role involves ensuring the successful execution of projects while managing risks and maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard project delivery through effective risk management and competency in a principal delivery model.
- Attract and retain top talent to support current and future project demands.
- Lead initiatives in identifying and defining project opportunities.
- Fulfill contractual obligations on secured projects.
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of all maintenance contracts.
- Identify, mitigate, and manage all associated project risks, including technical, statutory, health and safety, and commercial aspects.
- Enhance profitability through cost management and strategic procurement of subcontractor services.
- Develop long-term opportunities by establishing a robust pipeline of projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and promote project opportunities, including creating case studies and hosting site tours for key stakeholders.
- Oversee the preparation and management of bids, tenders, and proposals.
- Drive new sales initiatives to surpass the annual financial objectives.
- Explore innovative solutions and technologies to generate project opportunities.
- Lead the sales process, including solution development and participation in presentations and consultations.
- Build and maintain effective relationships to secure project wins.
- Facilitate business communication through advice, reviews, and contributions to management meetings and reports.
- Uphold and promote the core values of ACML.
- Support the professional development of team members.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the business unit.
- Ensure compliance with governance across project operations.
- Manage business unit forecasts and address personnel issues effectively.
- Negotiate contractual obligations and resolve disputes.
- Chair monthly project review meetings focusing on health, safety, and financial compliance.
Qualifications
- Recognized technical qualification in Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field (preferred).
- Degree in Project/Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture (preferred).
- Proven experience in managing bids, tenders, and proposals.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support operations and participate in training.
- Accountability to the Business Unit Leader and Divisional Project Director.
- Ability to generate project opportunities through strong relationship-building.
- Full P&L responsibility for the business unit.
- Line management accountability for team members.
- Adherence to ACML's management policies and procedures.
- Commitment to implementing and auditing health and safety policies across all activities.
