We are seeking a skilled Regenerative Rancher/Farmer to join our team at VG Meats, Rowe Farms, and Olliffe. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in promoting conservation and a rehabilitative approach to food and farming systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage grasslands through holistic planned grazing to promote ecosystem health and biodiversity.
  • Monitor ecosystem processes to evaluate the effectiveness of our conservation efforts and make data-driven decisions.
  • Feed and tend livestock, ensuring their health and well-being while promoting regenerative practices.
  • Operate and maintain farm vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Monitor and maintain the health of animals, taking proactive measures to prevent disease and promote overall well-being.
  • Set, monitor, and maintain water lines, airflow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops to create a healthy and comfortable environment for livestock.
  • Clean stables, barns, livestock trailers, barnyards, coops, and pens to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Adhere to and abide by all Health and Safety rules, regulations, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Look for opportunities to increase abundance and grow food for Ontarians, promoting regenerative agriculture practices and sustainable food systems.
  • Work independently and/or with others in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve our conservation goals.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Ability to take direction and/or make decisions on own as required, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Good organization skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • No specific education or training requirements, but a college certificate or specialized courses related to farming, such as farm equipment mechanics, agricultural welding, tree pruning, woodlot management, etc., would be beneficial.
  • A course or certificate in first aid may be required.

We offer a competitive wage range of $15 to $25/hr, depending on the level of regeneration you would like to contribute to. Additionally, you will receive a 25% employee discount and have the opportunity to develop your career with us.
