Job Summary:
The Customs Compliance Associate will be responsible for providing advisory services in various areas of customs compliance, including customs processes and trade regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customs regulations and trade processes, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit customs documents, including B2s and drawbacks, to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and monitor their completion.
- Provide advisory services to clients on customs regulations and trade processes, including HS classification, FTA analysis, customs valuation assessments, and commodity tax analysis.
- Assist clients with document preparation, including customs rulings, appeals, and report generation.
- Update CargoWise with FTAs and maintain the client product database.
- Support the Regulatory Compliance Manager with special projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience within the customs brokerage industry.
- College Degree in International Transportation & Customs or related field.
- Knowledge of Canadian customs regulations and trade processes.
- Experience in CargoWise One system or related brokerage systems.
- Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- CCS/CTCS designation.
