About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underground Mining Specialist to join our team at Technica Mining. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for participating in various facets of underground development, including LHD operation, mechanized bolting, service advance, and other underground activities.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in underground development activities, including LHD operation, mechanized bolting, and service advance.
- Assist with mechanical installations, maintenance of air, water, and ventilation systems, and ground support.
- Operate and maintain ore chutes or conveyor systems to control the flow of ore, and operate construction equipment (bulldozer, grader, or backhoe) to build and maintain underground passage and haulage ways.
- Inspect existing underground headings and scaling loose rocks, working according to work procedures and company policies within a safety-conscious environment.
- Inspect work headings and construction for compliance to code, regulations, and standards, and report any deficiencies or unsafe conditions.
Qualifications:
- Must have Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, U0003, U0004, U0005, U0006, U0010, & U0012) or equivalent provincial designation.
- Following Specialty modules are considered an asset: U0018 – Operate Mechanized Rock Bolter, U0068 A or B – Perform Trackless Haulage, U0089 – Operate Mechanized Jumbo Drill, U0091 – Operate Haul Truck.
- Experience with Cat Scoops is required.
- Previous experience using a jackleg and stoper is considered an asset.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years underground development experience.
- Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Must be open to working at any of the underground mine sites that Technica operates at.
