Registered Practical Nurse

Verve Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team in a Full Time capacity. As an RPN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in and adhere to continuous quality improvement standards.
- Assess the needs of individual residents and develop personalized care plans to promote maximum resident independence.
- Conduct pre-move-in and ongoing assessments of residents' health and wellness needs, making recommendations as necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care, including medication administration processes.
- Update residents' care plans every 6 months or as required.
- Carry out assigned tasks and responsibilities, taking into account the physical, spiritual, social, and emotional needs of residents.
- Supervise and guide care provided by attendants or designated staff, ensuring adherence to resident care plans.
- Distribute medications and provide treatments to residents in accordance with approved standards of care and policies.
- Respond to emergency calls from residents, providing assistance and contacting professional help or family members as necessary.
- Provide direct resident care, adhering to current and approved standards of care and policies.
- Comply with infection control protocols, including outbreak management.
- Act as a leader and contribute to the development of employees to ensure high-quality service and job standards.
- Maintain accurate records of nursing observations and procedures performed, completing all required reports.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents and staff, recognizing and addressing safety hazards.
- Assist with the safekeeping of medications and nursing solutions.
- Report incidents and changes in resident status to management and complete shift reports.
- Participate in the development and implementation of care plans that support resident independence.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, offering suggestions for improvement.
- Provide ongoing support to colleagues and advocate for residents' rights, ensuring their needs are met.
- Utilize equipment and supplies effectively, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth operation of the residence.
- Minimum of grade 12 education required.
- Recognized nursing license (RPN licensing) and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Certified in Emergency First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Previous experience working as an RPN in a healthcare setting is an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, demonstrating excellent human relations with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, evaluating and meeting resident care needs, and demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work well in a team environment and independently, with a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
- Resident-oriented individual with visions and values aligning with those of the residence.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel.
