Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Taxation and Accounting Manager to join our team at LG Electronics Canada, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Canadian and international tax regulations, preparing tax returns, and managing tax audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taxation
    • Assist in preparing year-end tax provisions and review provisions to return-true-ups.
    • Prepare tax returns for corporate income and sales taxes.
    • Assist with transfer pricing audits.
    • Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities.
    • Provide guidance to business departments on tax-related matters.
    • Custom duty monitoring and management.
    • Environmental handling fees monitoring and management.
    • Coordinate with external consultants on addressing tax issues.
    • Do tax research and prepare technical memos.
    • Prepare cash tax forecasts and a cash tax payment plan.
  • Accounting
    • Assist with monthly closing and year-end financial statement audit.
    • Perform GL and financial statement analysis for tax-related accounts.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Tax, CPA required.
  • Working towards the CPA In-Depth Program or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-designation experience in Canadian corporate tax and commodity tax.
  • Experience working in a professional services firm is preferred.
  • Exposure to international tax is a strong asset.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required.
  • Must be bilingual (fluent in both English & Korean).
