About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist to join our Asset Management Team at Plains Midstream Canada ULC. As a key member of our team, you will provide Geographic Information System (GIS) expertise in development and analysis to assist our business groups throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement elegant geospatial solutions that meet business requirements using the latest tools and technology.
  • Develop complete design and architecture for web-enabled geospatial solutions.
  • Lead and manage implementation projects, ensuring timely data refreshes of large datasets and generating spatial features ready for consumption by clients.
  • Integrate various applications and services across multiple areas, including land, pipeline, facilities, regulatory, environment, and more.
  • Apply advanced spatial analytical skills to implement complex geospatial business rules and facilitate easy management of field activities performed by the workforce.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, computer science, or a related field required; certification in GIS technology/software an asset.
  • Minimum 8 years' directly transferrable experience in GIS development and analytical tools, including ArcGIS Server architecture/configuration and map service design.
  • Expertise in MS Excel and MS Access software, as well as strong SQL skills using SQL Server (or Oracle).
  • Development expertise in tools such as MS Visual Studio (C#, C/C++, VB, ASP.Net, MVC), Python, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery/jqWidgets, Dojo, Bootstrap, Entity Framework, SSRS or Microsoft BI, and other relevant libraries.
  • Ability to triage and rectify operational issues associated with Enterprise GIS technology and infrastructure.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision and within a team.
