Job Title: Occupational Therapist I

At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist I to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-informed services to individuals, groups, or communities, with a focus on occupational performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct service provision, consultation, education, and advocacy to clients and families.
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate the care needs of clients and their caregivers/families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for clients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the professional community.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Two years of recent home care or acute care experience in the last five years.
  • Proficiency in computer use and ability to use critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with acute clients and/or long-term clients with a focus on chronic disease management.
  • Experience in providing case management services.
  • Experience in pediatric and palliative support and client teaching.
