Our client, a firm specializing in engineering projects located in Dorval, is in search of a Financial Controller. In this pivotal role, you will be a proactive individual providing essential support to the President and the Accounting team.

As this is a newly established position reporting directly to the President/owner, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Identifying and participating in the execution of necessary improvement initiatives
  2. Preparing and reviewing monthly and annual financial statements along with supporting documentation
  3. Establishing and assessing internal controls
  4. Creating KPIs, budgets, and forecasts
  5. Managing processes related to divisional accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset management
  6. Delivering insightful analysis of both direct and indirect operational expenses to Management
  7. Providing various ad-hoc financial reports as required
  8. Guiding support staff on general accounting and financial reporting systems, policies, and procedures
  9. Overseeing the preparation of necessary government filings
  10. Supervising the year-end audit and liaising with third parties such as financial institutions
  11. Ensuring a positive workplace environment and fostering staff awareness of company policies, objectives, and goals
Qualifications:
  1. Accounting designation (CPA) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a comparable role
  2. Experience within the manufacturing sector
  3. Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
  4. Hands-on approach, autonomy, diplomacy, tenacity, rigor, and adaptability
  5. Exceptional managerial abilities in supporting, training, and motivating team members
