Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues with control systems, scaling systems, or electrical/electronic systems on production equipment.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance in accordance with our preventative maintenance program.
  • Carry out installation and modification work, including mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration tasks.
  • Handle hazardous materials safely and efficiently.
  • Take a lead role in emergency situations and be observant of potential faults.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in your work area and the maintenance shop.
  • Repair equipment and buildings not associated with production lines, such as cold store equipment, yard lighting, forklifts, trucks, office fittings, and facilities.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Industrial Electrician certification is required.
  • A Class "B" Refrigeration license would be an asset.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of Siemens and Allan Bradley PLCs and frequency drives.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing facility, with knowledge of food safety and HACCP.
  • Prior involvement in Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Flexibility to undertake other work assigned from time to time, which may be outside normal duties.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating continental shift schedule (2 weeks days & 2 weeks nights).
