Electrical VDC Designer

Plan Group is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electrical VDC Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design and development of complex electrical systems for a variety of projects.

As an Electrical VDC Designer, you will leverage your expertise in Revit and other Autodesk software to create detailed installation drawings that ensure seamless integration with architectural and structural designs. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate and efficient solutions.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive electrical installation drawings in Revit, incorporating engineering specifications, construction plans, and client requirements.
  • Model and coordinate electrical infrastructure, including cable trays, sleeving, equipment, and other components, ensuring clash-free integration with other trades.
  • Interpret and analyze structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings to ensure accurate representation of project scope.
  • Perform technical calculations, such as voltage drop and conduit fill, to verify design compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with the project team to develop drawings efficiently and accurately while adhering to time constraints and project schedules.
  • Review design drawings and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk products, including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and ACC platform.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems design and installation principles, encompassing power distribution, lighting, fire safety, security, and communications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
