Elliott's Autos Ltd is looking for a talented automotive service technician to become a part of our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be adept at utilizing both power and hand tools, along with advanced diagnostic equipment. You will be responsible for servicing a diverse range of vehicle brands and light commercial vehicles.
Exceptional customer service skills are crucial, as you will engage with clients regularly. We pride ourselves on being a growing family-run garage that fosters a friendly and customer-oriented work atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance to meet high standards in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Examine vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical systems to accurately diagnose problems, employing the latest diagnostic technology.
- Generate documented visual vehicle health checks (VHCs).
- Deliver outstanding customer service while addressing technical inquiries from clients.
- Perform road tests on vehicles to assess repairs and investigate issues.
- Complete all necessary documentation to the required standards.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent, with relevant experience in the automotive sector.
- Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient and confident in using workshop equipment safely.
- Ability to execute tasks to high standards while adhering to deadlines.
- Physical capability to lift heavy items and perform demanding tasks.
- Welding skills are a plus.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
- A solid understanding of vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting, software updates, and electric/hybrid vehicles is advantageous.
Requirements:
- NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent, with demonstrated experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a franchised dealership or independent garage.
- A valid driving license.
- Personal tools are necessary.
- Flexibility during peak periods is required.
