Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Early Childhood Education Specialist. This role requires a strong background in education, particularly in the area of childhood development and intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized programs for children with special needs, based on formal and informal evaluations.
  • Analyze resources, strategies, processes, and interventions to support the education and development of children with difficulties.
  • Interpret and communicate the results of evaluations and assessments to stakeholders.
  • Study legal issues related to childhood education and development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Specialist qualification in the field of childhood education and development.
  • Recent experience in full-time teaching or administration in a school or school board.
  • Experience in implementing the Ontario curriculum in this area, with a minimum of 2 years.
  • Current qualification confirmation in the field.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics of the Ontario College of Teachers.

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational requirements and/or demonstrated experience.
