Position Title: Senior Technology Specialist, Core Systems Developer
Reports To: Technology Manager
Department: IT Savings & Retirement
Term: Temporary Full-Time, Twenty (20) Month Contract

Work Arrangements: This role offers a hybrid work model. You will be required to work in our office a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, in addition to a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are encouraged to utilize the office more than the minimum requirement, and some roles may necessitate more frequent office attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of developers to design and enhance a broad spectrum of solutions utilizing various technologies.
  • Propose and implement system designs aligned with the long-term IT organizational strategy.
  • Provide technical and practical leadership to continuously advance the capabilities and technologies that facilitate the ongoing delivery of shared infrastructure systems.
  • Work closely with business and systems analysts, as well as QA, to develop alternative solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Analyze production system issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve production challenges.
  • Research and suggest technologies to the team and management to ensure our tech stack remains current.

Qualifications:

  • Openness and eagerness to learn new methodologies and technologies.
  • Expertise in C# .Net (VB.Net acceptable) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with SOAP and/or RESTful services.
  • High motivation to collaborate as a team player while also being a strong individual contributor.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information, concepts, and ideas clearly.
  • Hands-on experience with testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit) is an asset.
  • Experience with ORMs such as Entity Framework is a plus.
  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Preferred skills: React, Unitrax, ExStream, Active Batch, Ingenium.
