We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at FRS Framing Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare Building Plans: Ensure that all building layouts conform to local building codes, using precision measuring tools.
- Material Selection and Assembly: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Site Management: Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Training and Development: Instruct apprentices in carpentry techniques and best practices.
- Cost Estimation: Accurately estimate costs and materials required for projects.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with regular exposure to:
- At Heights: Work at heights, requiring a strong sense of balance and spatial awareness.
- Noisy and Dusty Conditions: Work in noisy and dusty conditions, with regular exposure to construction equipment and materials.
- Outdoors: Spend most of the working day outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
- Physical Demands: The role requires regular bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
- Work Term: Permanent position.
