Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bus and Truck Mechanic to join our team at Mississauga Bus, Coach & Truck Repairs Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks, including adjusting, repairing or replacing parts and components of truck systems.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
  • Discuss work with supervisor to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Review work orders to ensure that all necessary repairs are completed.
  • Test automotive systems and components to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems, truck-trailer systems, and other related systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of experienced mechanics. The work site environment is dusty, outdoors, hot, and noisy.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential for this role.
